Miss Abbie M. Burd, aged 47 years, of Morgantown Road near Sycamore Tree, died in the Uniontown Hospital Saturday, August 4, 1945, at 10:08 P.M. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren of Markleysburg. Surviving are Mother, Mrs. Hannah J. Burd of Markleysburg; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Crawford of Dickerson Run; Mrs. Nancy Kelley of Markleysburg; Mrs. Etta Lytle of South Connellsville; five brothers, Thomas of Markleysburg; David of Washington, Pa.; Austin of Farmington; Pvt. Archie in Germany, and Seaman First Class Henry Burd in the Pacific. Friends are being received in the A.D. Ferguson Funeral Home, So. Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 2 o'clock with Rev. H.L. Davis officiating. Interment will be in Park Place Cemetery.
