Judge W.H. Kilpatrick, ex-Mayor of Corinth, died at his residence in this city, at 3 o'clock a.m., on the 23rd inst. The funeral was delayed until Wednesday evening to give time for his absent children and friends to arrive. For months he had showed symptoms of a giving-away, or a breaking down of the system, and his death, though not expected so soon, was not much of a surprise to his friends. He had reached a ripe old age, and left behind him many bright examples in all that which goes to make up the true moral character and christian gentleman. As a citizen, he will be greatly missed, and to his family his loss will be irreparable. We tender our sympathy to the bereaved family. The preliminary services at the church were by Pastor J.H. Mitchell, prayer by Rev. Mr. Lowe, and sermon by Presiding Elder Kendall. There was a very large congregation present, and a large procession accompanied the body to the city cemetery.
