Dustin Reed Campbell Comstock, 39. Your laugh, smile and mischievous twinkle in your eye are with us forever. Loving son and grandson, guardian brother and step brother, selfless nephew and tender cousin passed away May 31, 2011.

We have lost a gentle man who asked for and whose friendship needed little but who was always there when asked for or needed. While large in stature, it was Dustin's warm and generous heart that caught the attention. He will be remembered for his quick but slight smile and his large, helping hands.

Dustin was born March 30, 1972 at Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of David and Anne (Zollinger) Campbell. In 1975 when Anne married John Comstock, Dustin was introduced to a new set of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives and most importantly became "big brother" to Richard Comstock who tagged along adoringly until later in life when he was able to reach out and return some of Dustin's early guidance and companionship while working side by side in McCall, Idaho.

Dustin attended and graduated from Borah High School in 1992, where he excelled on both the football and basketball teams; he then attended Idaho State University and in recent years was a property maintenance manager applying his many talents to the needs of cabin and property owners in McCall and Northern Idaho.

Dustin's family expanded once again as Anne married Dan Brainard of Kingston, Idaho and he became "big stepbrother" to Angie Brainard of Athol, Idaho, Apyrl and (Brian)Brainard-Adams of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Anessa and (James) Smith of Middleton Idaho.

Dustin was at his best while in the mountains of Idaho facing a stream with a wily smile on his face. He had a unique ability for and love of fishing, a love which was not shared by the fish. While most of the extended family would be breaking their poles rolling up the windows Dustin was a sure bet to set the hook and land the largest catch of the day.

And when the ferrules are frozen and put away for the day, a warm fire crackling muffled by hearty laughter from those playing poker from two decks Dustin will be toasted in proper fashion to remember the kindness of his spirit.

Dustin is survived by his Mother, Anne and (Dan) Comstock Brainard and his three stepsisters; his father, David Campbell, of McCammon and his children, Christopher & Tiffany. John Comstock, of Boise and Richard Comstock, his brother, of McCall. Dustin is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends, including his constant companion and loyal friend, Timber (his beloved dog).

Graveside services will be held in Mackay, ID on July 23rd 2011 2pm.
