OBITUARY
Doctor Columbus Fox
Doctor Columbus Fox, son of Adam and Sarah Fox, was born May 15, 1863 in Appanoose county, Iowa, and departed this life January 25, 1936 at his home In Cincinnati, Ia., at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 10 days. He was the last of his immediate family, his father and mother, two sisters and a brother having preceded him in death.
He was united In marriage with Lennie M. Hockett of Livingston on November 27, 1890. Three children were born to this union. Lily L. and an infant daughter, both preceding their father in death, and B. Vernon, who survives.
He leaves to mourn his death his devoted wife and son, and five grandchildren, Mrs. Jess Anderson of Numa, Dorothy, Deloris and Donald Fox and Dean Campbell, besides a great number of friends and neighbors who will greatly miss him.
Mr. Fox followed the vocation of farming until the spring of 1920, at which time them moved to Cincinnati. He was united with the Christian church of Mt. Olive in his younger days, and he was a devoted companion, a loving father and a cheerful neighbor to all who knew him.
Funeral services were held from the Christian church in Cincinnati with Rev. E. L. McClure officiating, "Does Jesus Care?", "Going Down the Valley," and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Johnson, Mrs. Earl Sturdivant and Mr. John Browitt, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. F. C. Staley. Burial was made in the Livingston cemetery.
