Born on May 15, 1764, New York City. In 1776 he was a waiter for his father who was a Captain in Colonel Malcalm's Regiment, then became a drummer for a Connecticut Regiment which was stationed at Tarrytown on the Hudson River. At the age of 16 he volunteered at Newburg, and was stationed for a time below Tarrytown on the farm of a Widow Vanwert, and became friends with her son and young Pauling along with Williams captured Major Andre. He was an active guard on the Lines and ranging the country as a scout looking after the movements of the Tories and the British. He Married 1)Keziah Brown, 2) Elizabeth Brown (1779-1838); children: Lawrence and Robert C. Brasher. He emigrated to Hamilton County, Ohio in 1790 and located in Springfield Township. He Died in 1840 and Buried St. Mary Presbyterian Cemetery, Springfield Twp. Corner of Springfield Pike and Cameron Rd. Ref : S. A. R. Daughters of the American Revolution of Ohio.
