Amos Edward Gillean, 92, Paragould, died Tuesday at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

He was born on November 17, 1918 in Greene County, AR the son of the late John Houston "Bud" and Sarah Margaret Smelser Gillean.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Opal Lee Gillean, sisters, Ethel, Velma, Ora, brothers, Edgar, Elwood.

He was a retired school teacher at Delaplaine High School and WWII Army veteran. He was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Emma Lou and John Mowry of Farmington, MO; grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Drs Kevin and Cathy Mowry of Lenexa, KS; great-grandson: Ethan Mowry; great-granddaughter: Reese Mowry.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM-10:00AM, Thursday at Heath Colonial Chapel.

The celebration of his life will follow at Heath Colonial Chapel, 10:00 AM, Thursday with Michael Cox officiating.

Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Phil Lee, Michael Lee, Benton Lee, Brian Lee, Anthony Hollis, Darian Simpkins, Keith White.
