Martha Ann Isaacs Marsh Brattstrom

Martha Ann Isaacs was born October 26, 1929, in New London, Conn., the daughter of Brownlow Martin Isaacs and Myrtle Gertrude Arnett Isaacs. Martha Ann was born in Conn. when her Father was stationed there while serving in the U S Navy. (her Father retired from the Navy, as the rank of Chief Warrant Officer)

A 1930 Census of New London, Conn. lists Martha Ann and her Mother (hoh) residing alone in the household. Martha Ann was listed as being born in Conn. and aged 6 months.

Martha Ann Isaacs would later have a brother to be born in San Diego, Calif., a few years later in 1944.

Martha Ann Isaacs was first married to Gordon A. Marsh, in Ca., 1955, but they were later divorced, Orange Co., Calif, Febr. 1976. They had a son, "Robby".

Martha Ann Isaacs was next married to Dr. Bayard Hoyle Brattstrom, b. Cook Co., Illinois.(during his youth, Brattstrom lived across the street from the Rosewald Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago)

Martha Ann was struck with Polio when a child and it left her with a physical handicap, but she never let the handicap take control of her life, as she was a very determined, strong willed, and a very intelligent lady. She went on to attend and graduate from college; she became a science school teacher.

Martha Ann was my first cousin and since her family lived on the West Coast for many years, as I remember, I only got to see her one time, but since the family residing the East Coast was always so proud of her, I also was very proud of my cousin to which I later realized even more so, as to what an inspiring lady, Martha Ann Isaacs Brattstrom truly was!
