Laura Etta Chapman daughter of Nathan L. and Nancy Chapman was born July 1, 1869 in Coles County, Illinois, when a child she came with her parents to Nebraska.
On July 31, 1887 she was united in marriage to George W. Purkepile.
Three daughters were born to them, who with their father remain to mourn their mother's departure, Mrs. Sarah Swayze of Seneca, Nebraska, Mrs. Stella McCoy of Dunning, Mrs. Burtha Duncan of Left, Indiana. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and two great a grandchildren and many other relatives, of whom a sister, Mrs. Aubert two nephews, Clifford, Davis ubert and a niece Mrs. Otis Christ were present at the funeral.
She and her husband was converted at Round Grove in 1897 and united with the Free Methodist Church.
The funeral was held in Ansley with the burial in the Ansley, Nebraska Cemetery.
