ROCHELLE - Kathryn M. Giese, 83, of Rochelle, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998 at Swedish American Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1914 in Eau Claire, Wis., to William and Sarah (Granger) Miffit. She married Kenneth J. Giese on Sept. 4, 1948 in Madison, Wis. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1995.

She was also preceded in death by one brother.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Rochelle.

Survivors include one son, Thomas (Cynthia) Giese of Peoria; one daughter, Mary Margaret Giese of Lawrence, Kan.; one brother, Ernest Geisler of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Garry Briesacher, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, Wis. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle.

Memorials have been established to the church or Ogle County Hospice.
