Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a Major in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a First Lieutenant in Company D, 147th Pennsylvania Infantry for action on May 3, 1863 at Chancellorsville, Virginia. He citation reads "Rescued the colors of the 107th Ohio Volunteers from the enemy."
