Our good friend and fellow "Uncle" George Admire is mourning the death of his eldest son, Silas Admire, who was stricken with apralysis Saturday evening Feb. 28th, while on the way to milk his cows, at his farm near Bucklin, Mo. and died Wednesday, March 4, at 10 a.m. The family telegraphed "Uncle" George sunday morning and he left on an extra freight train that day, arriving home Wednesday last. Silas Admire was 61 years of age. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in the same company and regiment as his father, the 2nd Missouri. A large family of sons and daughters (all grown and married except the youngest son who lives at home) survive him and live within easy access of the home place. The many friends of the aged father, George Admire will sympathize deeply with him in his sudden and unexpected sorrow.
