Mrs. Dorothy Gail Pletsch, 87, of Tonica, died at 11:05 a.m. on March 18 in the Skilled Nursing Facility of St. Margaret's Hospital, where she had been a patient for six weeks.

Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hurst Funeral Home, Tonica, with the Rev. Gerald G. King, pastor of the Tonica United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Tonica.

She was born in Lostant on March 23, 1903, to Mark and Mary Henning Bangs.

She taught school in a rural area until her marriage to Carl G. Pletsch. He died May 30, 1978. She was a member of the Tonica United Methodist Church and the Hope Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Prentice of Springfield and Mrs. Dominic (Marilyn) Pattarozzi of Tonica; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Bangs of Lostant and Dr. F. K. Bangs of Boulder, Colo.
