Services for Raymond A. Bates, 63, of 2428 Des Moines st., who died Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a four-day illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Bates a printer at the Register and Tribune, was born at Paris, Mich., and had lived here 41 years. He was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Adelphic Masonic Lodge and the Typographical Union.
Surviving are his widow, Dorthea; three sons, Robert L. and Shirley R. of Des Moines and Jerry W. of Moline, Ill,; three brothers, Carl of Mountainburg, Ark.; Leo of Niles City, Ill. and Jesse.
