Theodore was first married to Mary A Frey, 1869, in Carlyle, Illinois, three children were born to them. Theodore lived in Colorado several years where he met Catherine Ackerman his second wife. They married in Sterling, Colorado in 1920, and later returned to the Carlyle community where they were engaged in farming.
Theodore died at age 76, in his home, Carlyle, Illinois.
