Funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 12:00 noon, at First Baptist of Lakeland Church, with Rev. Howard Daniel officiating, burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday 5 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland. She rededicated her life to Christ on October 24, 2010. She enjoyed coming and worshiping under the leadership of Rev. H. K. Daniel.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, doing the morning "garage sales" and shopping. She was a faithful employee for Head Start as a bus monitor for thirty one years. She attended Michigan City Area Schools.
At the age of 48, Mary made her transition from death to eternal life at 2:28 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Goldie and Alver McDonald and paternal grandparents Doc and Luella Byrd.
Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories; husband Larry Corley, one son Adrian Byrd Sr., and two daughters Felicia Byrd and Rebecca Byrd, parents Lela McDonald and Herbert Byrd, Sr. four grandchildren Adrian (Lil A) Byrd, Tyreana Terrell, Tyren Terrell and Ty'Andre Terrell, five sisters Vanessa (Robert) Byrd-Paul, Donna (Jeffery) Mitchell, Sheron (Steve) Patrick, Brenda (Alonzo)Rupert and Glenda (Ellis) Thomas, six brothers Harlan Byrd, Tony Byrd, Brian Byrd, Hebert "Charlie" Byrd, Jr., Jeffery (Sieneca) Byrd and Devonte Byrd all of Michigan City, IN, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
