*For Marine J. Erickson:
(b. 4-19-1905, Minn. / d. 8-26-1913, Superior, Iowa.)

"Mr. and Mrs. Theo Erickson were called upon to mourn the death of their son, Marine, who died Tuesday afternoon, the 26th, of appendicitis. The little fellow has been very sick for several days and all that loving hands could do for him was done but he passed away at 2:30 Tuesday after an operation Monday night. He rallied nicely after the operation but it was too late and his strength was too near gone to survive. Marine was about eight years of age at the time of his death and was a bright, pleasant little fellow who will be missed by his little friends. The parents have the sympathy of their many friends in their sorrow. The body was taken to Rake, [Cherokee County], Iowa, Wednesday morning for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Erickson wish to thank the friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness in their time of sorrow."
