He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, the two children, mother, two grandchildren, Hallie Lee and Bernita and Cash Hohstadt, a half brother, living near Memphis. His father preceded him in death three years ago.
At the age of sixteen he united with the Union Church at Lawn Ridge, later moving his membership to the Baptist Church at Arbela where he has remained a faithful member.
He was a loving father and husband, a good neighbor and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services were held at the Baptist Church in Gorin, Friday afternoon. The house was filled by his many friends and relatives who came to bid him a last farewell. The flowers were many and beautiful that were brought and laid tenderly on the casket. A quartet composed of Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Leftwich, Mr. Bud Suter and Mr. Kutzner with Mrs. Frazee at the piano sang sweetly and softly favorite songs of the deceased. From the requested Scripture lesson - "In My Father's House are many mansions" came the sermon delivered by Rev. E. C. Sears, pastor of the Gorin Methodist Church.
In the late afternoon, amidst the quiet soft beauty of a country cemetery the earthly remains of Harry Hohstadt were laid to rest at Hickory Grove near Arbela. From the little old fashioned church that stand nearby came the soft and sweet strains of "Going Home" while the minister pronounced the benediction and the body was lowered to sleep.
A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in hour home
Which never can be filled.
God, in his wisdom has recalled
the been
His love has given,
And though the body slumbers
here
The soul is safe in Heaven.
