Clyde was born in State Center, Iowa, to Thomas Henry and Anna Marie (Billingsley) Childs.
On 15 June 1916 in Cass County, North Dakota, he married Mary Agnus Tinnes.
He had been a farmer and grain elevator manager in Adrian, Minnesota, before moving to Yakima 11 years ago, about 1945.
Clyde's hobby was woodworking, from which made several humidors and pencil holders and donated them to the March of Dimes campaign.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and had been a vocal soloist and with community choral groups.
He is survived by his widow, Mary ; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn and two grandchildren.
