Will of James Weed. Held in the Tippecanoe County Historical Association Library.

I James Weed if Tippecanoe County and State of Indiana do make and publish this my last will and testament here by revoking and making void former wills by me at any time here to fore.

Made first I direct that my body be decently interned that my funeral be conducted in a manor corresponding with my estate and situation in life and as to such worldly estate as it has pleased God to entrust me with dispose of the same in the following manor to wit.

I direct that all my just debt and funeral expenses first paid as soon after decease as possible of the first money that shall come in to the hands of my executors from any of my real or personal estate I hold direct that a fair evaluation of appraisement be made by three judicious neighbors of all my said estate and after being signed by them to be given a copy to my executors.

I also direct that my wife Eunice Weed shall have one third of my property during my widow as long as she shall remain, also I direct that James Weed my third son shall have one hundred and fifty dollars.

And I also direct then that my three other sons, Henry Weed, Erza F Weed, and Ebenezer Weed shall all come in and equal with James Weed my third son. And that William Bush shall be my administrator and give out my money five dollars each to my daughters when by them caled on that Wm Bush my administrator shall lay out the money of my estate going to Henry Weed, Ezra F Weed or he in his sound dissention think proper.
