Funeral services for Mrs. Avo Scott, 93, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2001, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Rev. Ken Miller officiating. Burial was in the Fitzgerald Cemetery in Celina with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Scott died Thursday, February 15, 2001, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. She was a self-employed babysitter and a member of the Celina Church of Christ.

Born June 10, 1907, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late James Porter Ledbetter and Mary Etta (Hammons) Ledbetter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Curtis Scott.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George C. and Lois Scott, Lexington, KY, and Jack and Eva Nell Scott, Nashville; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Ruth and John Crawford, Buhl, ID, Betty Lyons, Burley, ID, Ollie Vittorio, Hollywood, FL, Joyce and Ed Witham, Hampton, VA, and Mary Etta and Don Sherrell, Celina; 21 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Curtis Witham, Tom Witham, Greg Lyons, Thomas Lyons, Steve Scott, David Hutchenson, Thomas Roach, and Chris Scott.
