Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Oilton with the Rev. Larry Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Cushing.
Donald was born Nov. 21, 1942 in San Francisco, Calif., to Irene Thornhill Russell.
He was raised and educated in Moorpark, Calif., and graduated from Ventura College in Ventura, Calif.
He worked for the U.S. Department of Defense until his retirement in 1988. He moved to Drumright five years ago to be close to family.
Donald was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the National Hot Rod Association. He loved designing and building high-performance hot rods and firearms.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Russell, of Moorpark, Calif.; two sisters, Patricia Halas and husband Pete of Drumright, and Mary Jane Delp and husband Frank of Drumright; two nieces, Tammie Musak of Longview, Texas, and Donna Ruiz of Lancaster, Calif.; one nephew, Conrad Beltramo of Virginia Beach, Va.; four great-nephews and four great-nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Allen Russell.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright.
