P. J. Shannon, 80, Dies At Albany Nursing Home
Pleasant Jay Shannon, 80, a resident of Scio for the past 12 years, died at an Albany nursing home early Wednesday morning, April 7. He was born in Charles City, Iowa, April 23, 1873 and had resided in Oregon since 1911.
Surviving are three brothers, John Shannon, Nashville Iowa; Russell Shannon of East Moline, Ill., and Bert Shannon of Bellingham, Wash., and one sister, Mrs. Mae Knight of Nashville, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at the Fortmiller-Fredericksen Chapel, Friday, April 9, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Glenn Welborn, pastor of the Grace Brethren church officiating. Interment at the Mount Crest Crematorium, Salem, Oregon.
