William Roland Krauss was the son of Nathaniel Krauss and Amanda Roland. He married Louisa Belle Lister March 17, 1885 and in June of 1886 they had a daughter named Crystal. His wife Louisa died very young and William remarried to a woman Rae M. Anderson who turned out to be very unstable and out of jealousy and fear of her not inheriting William's money decided to kill William's daughter Crystal. Which she did by poisoning her with a strychnine capsule about three monhs after his second marriage. The woman finally admitted that she had done it in 1904 and why, she was sentenced to life imprisonment. The court eventually granted him a divorce from her somewhere after 1910. William then married a third time to Maude H. Bledsoe in Allen County, IN on July 10, 1913. Nothing more is known about him at this time.
He was a druggist in Fort Wayne, Indiana but I do know the Indianapolis News article stated that William visited Rae every day in jail, she then confessed her reason for killing Crystal.
