Death of Mrs, T.D. Brown
Mrs. Theodore D. Brown died last Monday at 7:20 o'clock at her home on west Main street after a protracted illness. The funeral took place at the residence on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A.J. Alexander. The interment was at Oak Hill and was private.
Mrs. Brown's maiden name was Switzer and she was born in Lowell, Mass., June 15, 1834. She was married to T.D. Brown at Crawfordsville, October 24, 1854. Her husband and three children, William S. Mary Ellen and Frederick Thomas survive her. She was one of a family of seven children, but only one survives her, a brother, William U. Switzer, of Illinois. Mrs. Brown was a consistant and faithful member for many years of the Center Presbyterian church and her death removes in point of membership, one of the oldest communicants of the church. Her character in the home and society was a most attractive and beautiful one and her life commends itself to memory by its many acts of usefulness.
