Samuel Pierson married Rebecca Garrigus in 1765.

During the Revolutionary War he served as a private in the Morris County militia, in Colonel Spencer's Regiment of the Continental Army, and in Captain Holmes's Company.

Samuel and Rebecca Pierson also were the parents of:
Isaac Pierson (1779-1859), died in Preble County, Ohio (Find-A-Grave #70051311)
