Willie Odessa (Dessie) Wilson, 99, of La Mesa, New Mexico entered eternal life on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Las Cruces Nursing Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dorsett, and survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ed Farr, granddaughter Alana, husband Michael Miller, great-granddaughters Alyssa and Ava of Tucson, Az, grandson Colin Farr, wife Tami, of Seattle, WA, nephew Stanley Sharp, wife Mary, and many grand nieces and nephews in Anthony, TX.

Dessie was born in Huckabay, Texas September 27, 1911 to Wiley and Sarah Merrell and was the youngest of 5 siblings.
She attended grammar and high school in Huckabay and Tarlton Agrigultural College in Stephenville, Texas.

On December 24, 1932 she married Robert Dorsett Wilson. In 1937 they moved to La Mesa where Dorsett farmed until his retirement. Dessie was a member of the La Mesa Baptist Church and was well known as a talented baker and seamstress.

Viewing for Mrs. Wilson will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 23, 2011 in Las Cruces at La Paz- Graham's Funeral Home Chapel with services continuing at 11:00 A.M. Rev. James Horton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
