Daughter of Richard G. and MacCene Maynard Grimmett. She attended Lincoln High School and BYU. She married Patry L. Curtis in 1955 and was later divorced. She married Robert E. Palfreyman on September 19, 1968 and was later divorced.

Colleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She was a champion of all people, especially those with special needs, and worked for many years within the pageant system, helping with both the Miss Springville and Miss Utah State Fair pageants... Colleen loved her family and gave selflessly to them at all times. When she was ill, she was worried more about others than her own needs. She quietly served and loved all, trying to strengthen those around her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Grimmett, two grandsons, and one nephew. She is survived by her mother, MacCene Grimmett-Provo, her daughters, Kim (Gene) Bond-Orem, Keri Beardall-Springville, her sisters, Karen (Blaine) Quarnstrom-Spanish Fork, Dixie Grimmett-Huntington Beach, CA, Penny Spresser-Spanish Fork, Mary Tilson-Provo. Also surviving her are step-children, Shanna Rae (Glen) Burgener, Tami (Horace) Ferran, Shane Palfreyman, Mike (Julie) Palfreyman, Clay (Pam) Palfreyman, Valerie Tregeagle, Tara (Trent) Allred. Colleen also has 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. (Premier Funeral Services Obituary, adapted)
