New Milford, Pa, June 13—Dr David C Ainey, aged 71 years, died on Sunday. Dr Ainey was born in Dimock May 31, 1837. After receiving his early education in the village schools he continued his studies in the Oberlin College, Ohio, and the University of Michigan, and later took a medical course at Yale. He began the practice of medicine in New Milford. In 1860, and was associated with Dr L W Bingham until 1861, when he started in the drug business and built the first drug store here. For many years he was surgeon for the D L & W, and was also a member of the United States pension board of examining surgeons for Susquehanna county, acting as president of the board for about 10 years. He was a 32d degree Mason and for 16 years was the district deputy grand master for the 16th district He was also a member of the Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife, one brother, Dr Ainey of Brooklyn, Pa, two sons, William D B Ainey of Montrose and Charles Ainey of New Milford and several grand children. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. Rev S B Eschoo of Great Bend and J M MacInnes of Montrose officiating. The services were then given in charge of the Rluo Lodge, the Sir Knights acting as escort, followed by the Odd Fellows and the GAR as guard of honor.
