Longtime Shickshinny resident liked NASCAR
Augusta Emma Benscoter died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Erie. Augusta was 94 years old.
She was a friendly and outgoing person who enjoyed reading, NASCAR, and being with friends and family.
She lived most of her life in Shickshinny.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Benscoter; by her grandson, Frank R. Genovese, and by 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include daughter Rose Marie Genovese, husband Ralph of Erie; daughter Sharon Goho of Bloomsburg; son David Kenjorski of Jacksonville, Fla.; son Jack Shoemaker of Las Vegas; granddaughters: Kristin Genovese-Kowalewski, Erie; Larrane Saia, California; Janet Zaloum, New Jersey, and Nancy Shoemaker, California; grandsons: Michael Genovese, Erie, and Bary Shoemaker, New Jersey; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are by Brugger Funeral Home in Erie and Mayo Funeral Home in Berwick. Burial will be at Scott Cemetery in Waterton, Pa.
