John Brockner was born and raised in New York. He was baptised April 15, 1810 per records from the Old Dutch Reform Church of Sleepy Hollow, Westchester, New York. He traveled with his brother William to Texas to fight for the Republic of Texas. Enlistment 1837-02-16 to 1837-11-04, Recd Land Grant, Deed Records of Llano Cty, Texas Patent Ltr #542 Vol 4. He married Mary A Cunningham 1844 in Houston, Texas. They moved to Northern Louisiana (around LaSalle and Caldwell Parish) to raise their family.

Possible Burial Site is the old homestead near Summerville, LaSalle, Louisiana.

They had four known children but possibly had more:
