FUNERAL FOR MRS. AGNES STOKES
DIES IN LOCAL HOSPITAL, INTERMENT MADE IN ADELLUM CEMETERY

The death of Mrs. Agnes L. Stokes at a local hospital last Tuesday afternoon came as a great shock to her many friends although she had been in failing health for some time. Mrs. Stokes was the wife of Matthew Stokes and was 27 years of age. She belonged to one of the pioneer families of Covington County and was beloved by all who knew her.

She was a member of the Christian church, a devoted Christian and a good wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, two children, Clara and Matthew V., Jr., and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Palmore.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. from Adellum Church with Rev. W.T. Grider of Troy officiating. Interment was made in the Adellum cemetery. The pallbearers were J.W. Shreve, Raymond Shreve, G.C. Hare, J.W. Thomasson, Marvin Garrett, and Sam Huggins. Arrangements by Patrick
