First Lord Stafford

Son of Sir Nicholas Stafford, Lord Stafford and Alianor De Langley, husband of Margaret Basset, the daughter of Ralph. Father of Sir Ralph de Stafford.

He inherited the estates on the death of his father in 1287 and distinguished himself in the Scottish wars with King Edward I. He was summoned to Parliament by writ on 6 February 1299 and had regular summonses for the rest of his life.
