She was born Aug. 22, 1893, in Mississippi County, the daughter of Ewing Showmaker and Mary Baker Showmaker Green. She married Ernest Blackwell, who preceded her in death.
She had resided here her entire life and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are daughters, Lela Knupp and Mary Tatum; sons, Lester, Ernest and Willie D. Blackwell; sisters, Mrs. Mary Hoftman and Mrs. Blanche Jones; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in Charleston. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
