Whittall Funeral Is Held On Thursday
Double funeral services for Mrs. Henry W. Whittall, 38, and her daughter Marjorie, 18, who drowned themselves in the Willamette river near their home on Hilliard lane Tuesday afternoon were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Veatch chapel. Dr. Norman K. Tully officiated. Interment was in the new IOOF cemetery.
Mrs. Whittall was born Leona Boggs on the Mohawk Sept. 18, 1899. In 1918, she married Henry W. Whittall, and has since lived in or near Eugene. She is survived by her husband; her father, E. E. Boggs of Marcola; five brothers, Walter and Leonard of Marcola, Roy of Westfir, and Howard and Clifford of Portland; four sisters, Mrs. Olive Lott of Wendling, Mrs. Ella Crowley and Mrs. Edna Soper, both of Portland, and Mrs. Elsie Serfling of Eugene.
Marjorie Whittall was born Jan. 30, 1920, and lived with her parents in Eugene until her death. She is survived by her father and her grandfather, E. E. Boggs of Marcola.
