Pauline was the daughter of George Stacy and Sarah (Brickey) Stacy. She married Ralph Bernard Stallard on 14 March 1942 in Gate City, Scott County, Virginia. They had one son, Gerald B. Stallard; two granddaughters, Leslie Diane (Stallard) Phillips and Jennifer Lynn Stallard, and an adopted grandson, Gerald Tony Stallard.
