Committed suicide. Complained of pains in his head and was fearful that he might lose his mind. Two years before he had a severe attack of typhoid fever, and one year ago the whole family was stricken with influenza.
Three of his children and a son-in-law all died of this disease. Ill health was thought to be his reasoning for committing suicide. Full article on his death in newspaper 15 Jan 1920.
He left his wife with 10 children, 6 still at home.
