Eugene Judson (Judd) Milam, 84, Silver Creek Rte. 2, died Monday morning in a Rome rest home following a long illness.

Mr. Milam was born in Bartow County Aug. 15, 1891, but had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County. He was the son of the late William Lewis and July Chapman Milam. His wife, Minnie L. Benefield Milam, died earlier. He was a retired employe of the Celanese Corp. and was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Guy Smith, Silver Creek Rte. 2; one son, William Milam, Lindale; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Wax Baptist Church with the Rev. Linton Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The body will remain at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. At other hours they will be at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Guy Smith, Silver Creek Rte. 2.

Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
