Lee Daines Eaton, 73, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 18, 1997, of cancer.
Lee was born February 24, 1924 in Cortez, Colorado, the only son of Lee and Emma Eaton. He spent his youth in and around Montezuma County, Colorado. He served with the US Marines during World War II, as an enlisted navigator flying in cargo aircraft. Lee married Salome (Sue) Braegger, November 18, 1945 at the Church of All Faiths on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple after he converted to the faith in 1954. Lee served his faith in many capacities over the years and was most gratified to serve as bishop of the Bountiful 5th Ward 1969-1973. He became something of a scriptural scholar and he used his understanding of the scriptures to help his family and others in their testimony. Lee an Sue owned and operated the Mountair Motel in Richfield, Utah, from 1973 to 1983, when they retired.Lee is survived by Sue, his wife of 52 years; three sisters; and his seven children, their spouses and 28 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Nov 21, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Richfield 4th Ward Chapel, 159 No. 400 West. Friends may call at Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West in Richfield Thursday evening 6-8 and Friday morning at the mortuary 9:30 to 10:30. Burial Richfield City Cemetery with Military Rites by the Elsinore American Legion Post #75.
