Effie Ella Dill Ballenger was the daughter of Wilson Elford Dill and Mary Mathursia Cannon Dill. Mary Mathursia Cannon Dill was the daughter of David Cannon and Pertima Dill Cannon of South Carolina. Wilson Elford and Mary Mathursia Cannon Dill are buried in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Chattooga County, Georgia. Effie Ella Dill Ballenger was my grandmother. She was married to Thomas Mansfield Ballenger. They had six children. The eldest was Zula Mae Ballenger who married T. P. Johnston. I think that Zula is buried near Summerville, GA in Chattooga County, GA. The second was Elsie Elizabeth Ballenger Hix who married William Almarine Hix. She and Almarine are buried in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Rome, GA. The third was Mary Mathursia Ballenger Holcomb who married Dee Holcomb. Mary Mathursia Ballenger Holcomb is buried at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Chattooga County, GA. The fourth child was my father, Thomas Dill Ballenger who married Mabel Louise McGill. Thomas Dill and Mabel Louise Ballenger are buried in East View Cemetery in Rome, GA. The fifth child was Lynn Gibroughton (spelling?) Ballenger. He died in 1929 and was never married. He is buried in East View Cemetery in Rome, GA. The youngest child was Helen Fleda Ballenger Brown who married Dorris Edward Brown. She is buried in Cartersville, GA.
