Mrs. Mary Belle Hale, 71, died at her home in Milwaukee, Wis., Monday, Nov. 21, 1938 at 7:45 in the morning. She was a native of Mercer county and the widow of Turner Hale and a daughter of James T. and Catherine McMullen Black. She was of the Baptist faith and a member at Bruner's Chapel. Surviving are four sons, J. D., Robert, Walter and Turner Hale, Jr., all of Milwaukee, nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mack Wickersham, of Jenkinsville, Washington county; Mrs. M. T. Peavler, Harrodsburg; six brothers, John L. Black, East Texas; Perry Black, Decatur, Ill.; W. K. Black, Littleton, Ill.; C. T., A. K. and J. D. Black, all of this place.
Mrs. Hale's funeral was Wednesday at 2:30 at Bruner's Chapel conducted by Rev. Connie L. Hargrove, pastor of Porter Memorial Baptist church, Lexington, assisted by Rev. George M. Trout, pastor at Bruner's Chapel. Burial in the church cemetery.
