Jean A. (McHugh) Bell, age 76, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26. 2006, at Christiana Hospital after a brief illness.
Jean, an avid Eagles fan, enjoyed bowling, reading, puzzles, and spending time with her family. She worked for many years in the Mortgage Dept. of the Wilmington Savings Fund Society.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill; her son, Bill and his wife, Patti, of Wilmington; her daughter, Barbara Luby and her husband, Steve, of The Villages, FL; her son, Bob, and his wife, Patty, of Newark, DE; and 4 grand-children, Erin, Kevin, Mandy, and Bobby. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanne Knox and Judy McHugh of Wilmington, DE, and Mary Farrall of Newark, DE; her brother, Frank McHugh of Wilmington, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mildred McHugh; and a sister, Janet Patterson.
Friends and family may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road. Pike Creek, on Tuesday, August 1, from 6-8 pm. The committal service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 2, at the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
