Benjamin Percy Holden was born in Jones County, Iowa on August 4, 1860. His parents were Vesta Veine Caffee Holden and Benjamin S. Holden. His father, Benjamin S. Holden, was a Union Soldier with the Iowa Volunteers and was killed in 1862 in the 2nd Battle of Corinth, Mississippi. His mother remarried in 1863 to Henry Finnigan and Benjamin had several half brothers and sisters. Benjamin Percy Holden married Mary "Lib" Murfield in Jones County, IA on October 5, 1880. They had 5 children: Coyle, Glenn, Lucretia, Jesse, and Hazel. Benjamin Percy Holden died in June of 1909.
