wed 26 Nov 1872 Sallie C. Hocker at Harrisburg
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The son of Jacob & Margaret Elizabeth (Clendening et al) Behm, in 1860 he was a laborer living with his family in Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
A Civil War veteran, he served two terms of service:
1. Enlisted at the stated age of twenty-two in Harrisburg July 18, 1864, mustered into federal service there July 20 as a private with Co. G, 194th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharge with his company November 6, 1864.
2. Enlisted at the stated age of twenty-two in Harrisburg February 20, 1865, mustered into federal service there February 21 as a private with the 101st Pennsylvania Infantry in the second organization of Co. D, and honorably discharged with his company June 25, 1865.
He married Sara C. Hocker and fathered Nevada Lodema (b. 08/17/73 - married Lewis Annan), Jacob Leslie & John William (b. 08/10/77), and Grover Cleveland (b. 08/04/84). By 1880, he was a millwright living in Rio Grande County, Colorado, but by 1895 was a resident of Page County, Iowa.
Given his two stated ages at enlistment, the 1841 birth year is questionable.
