Leonard H.Bain, 72, of Clarinda died early Friday morning August 23, 1974 at Municipal Hospital, where he had been a patient a week.

He was born June 19, 1902, at Grand River Decatur County, Iowa, the son of Frank William and Lora Hopkins Bain. He worked in the mines for many years, did blacksmithing and before his illness 14 years ago assisted farmers by operating a disc-sharpening service.

Survived by his wife Edna Pearl Nordyke of the home at 315 West Logan, daughter, Helen Milleson (Merril) of Clarinda and two grandchildren, brothers are Donald of Carter Lake, Homer of Omaha, Orville of Farragut, Ted of Leon and Jim of Iowa City and sister, Juanita Lady of Nebraska City.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, who died in World War II, his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon August 26, at Walker Funeral Home with the Rev Jerold Irvin officiating
