Alma R. Jackson Casad

Alma Casad 03/10/2001 DeWITT, Iowa -- Alma R. Casad, DeWitt, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at Amber Ridge Assisted Living, DeWitt. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alma was born June 28, 1915, in Clinton, to Alfred and Nina (Ferguson) Jackson. She married Joseph "Joe" Casad on March 2, 1938, in DeWitt. He died Nov. 12, 1991. Alma was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt, and a former member of Wilfani and Candlelight groups of the church, where she helped cook and serve lunch for the Lions Club. She also was a member of Lincoln Way Spoke and Wheel Club and Double I antique auto club and a past member of DeWitt Historical Society. Alma enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Alan Stampe, DeWitt, and Nancy and James Blanche, Davenport; sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Sharon Casad, DeWitt, and Tom and Linda Casad, Grand Mound; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Tietjens, Clinton. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; a daughter, Jane; and sisters, Mary Thiel, Erma Kaszinki and Beulah Hopp
