Mrs. Lillie Akins Stephens, age 92, died early Saturday at the Claxton Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Mrs. Stephens was a member of Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church and retired from Minkovitz Department Store in 1982 after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Stephens and her son, Ray Stephens.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Doris Stephens of Statesboro; two granddaughters, Amy Koth and her husband Andreas of Metter, and Angie Bird and her husband Mark of Statesboro; three great-grandchildren, Avery Koth of Metter, Hillary and Sarah Bird of Statesboro; and a sister-in-law Ruby Akins of Claxton.

The funeral service for Mrs. Stephens will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Denver Hollingsworth and the Rev. Varney Aspinwall officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
