He fell about 8 feet from the roof of his home on Tuesday and died from his injuries at 8:10 a.m. Saturday at Norfolk. He was born July 12, 1888 west of Madison in Green Garden precinct to Mr. and Mrs. Adam Gross. He was married on March 31, 1918 to Martha Knapp. They farmed southwest of Madison until moving to Norfolk in 1920. He was survived by his wife, 1 daughter Mrs. Lavern Hoefelman at Humphrey, 2 granddaughters, 1 brother Adolph at Madison, 2 sisters: Mrs. Emil Knapp at Norfolk, Mrs. Lisetta Knapp at Madison.
