Darlene Sheer, 87, of Urbandale Rehabilitation and Care Center, 4614 N.W. 84th Street, died of a respiratory ailment there Wednesday. Th body will be creamated and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Chruch in Johnston, of which she was a member. Private burial of the cremains will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Sheer was born in Coon Rapids and lived in the Des Moines area nearly 50 years. She was a retired bookkeeper with Amend's Meat Market.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Christenson of Johnston; a sister, Mozelle Long of Coon Rapids; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Urbandale Rehabilitation and Care Center.
