Adam Boots was born in 1805, Hardy Co., VA (now WV) and moved with his parents and siblings to Ohio while a child. He grew to manhood in Greene County, Ohio, where he married Jane Pendroy on 28 Aug 1828. To this union were born 2 sons, and one daughter.
William M (1830-1894); Eli Pendroy (1832-1894); and Sarah Elizabeth Boots (1834- ). Following the death of his wife, Jane, in 1836 he took his young family to live in Delaware County, Indiana. He soon married a second time to Miss Elizabeth Jones on 19 January 1837, and with this wife had the following children: Margaret; Celestial; Rebecca; Nancy; and Barbary.
