Mrs. Cora A. Piatt Dies in Hospital After Long Illness
Mrs. Cora A. Piatt, long a resident of this community, died in Salem Memorial Hospital Friday morning, March 5, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of George W. Piatt. She was born August 27, 1878, and moved to South Dakota as a girl, and later to Missouri. She and George were married in Springfield, Mo on September 8, 1905 and the same year the couple came here to reside. Mrs. Piatt was a member of the Church of Christ and Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors are the widower; two brothers, Lee Blackledge and Iowa Blackledge, and a sister, Mrs, Effie Woods, all of Springfield, Mo. Concluding rites were held Monday morning at the Scio Church of Christ with Rev. Victor L. Loucks, local Baptist minister, officiating. Interment was in Miller cemetery. Mrs. Victor Loucks and Mrs. Gloria Thurston sang. Mrs. Bernice Paschall was at the piano. Pallbearers were Buell Miller, Sam Burdick, Walter Bruce, Walter Wyman and George Miller. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Albany
